This three-year full-time qualification prepares future nurses for professional practice, combining theoretical training with hands-on experience in healthcare facilities.

Who Can Apply?
The Department of Health invites Mpumalanga Province citizens aged 18 to 36 to apply. To qualify, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
Academic Requirements

A Senior Certificate or NSC that qualifies for diploma/degree study.

English: Level 4 or above (HG D/SG C)
-
Life Science / Biology / Physiology: Level 4 or above

Mathematics: Level 3 or above OR Maths Literacy: Level 5 or above

One of the following subjects: Physical Science, Agriculture, or Geography – passed with at least Level 3

A minimum APS score of 23 from the six best subjects (excluding Life Orientation)
Additional Requirements

Must be a South African citizen and resident of Mpumalanga Province

No ABET certificates or qualifications not registrable with the South African Nursing Council will be accepted

Applicants with disabilities will be considered in line with the physical requirements of the nursing profession
What Happens if You're Selected?
Successful applicants will:

Sign a contract with the Mpumalanga Department of Health

Attend lectures and practical training at approved health facilities (Work Integrated Learning)

Be expected to submit the following at the interview stage:

Original matric certificate (to be verified by UMALUSI)

Certified copy of your ID

Proof of residence from your local municipality or tribal authority
